House of Arts
Designed in 1981 by the architect Souto Moura, the Porto House of Arts was built between 1988 and 1991 in the gardens of the Allen House.
The building is the first well-known work by the architect Eduardo Souto Moura. A discreet work, rich in references to modern masters and the tradition of local forms and materials, it is almost invisible and serves as one of the boundaries of the singular garden.
With its own programme, where cinema stands out, the Casa das Artes do Porto invests in a philosophy of welcoming new talents in the plastic arts and performing activities and various activities of an artistic-cultural nature.
Every month we give you many reasons to get to know the work of Souto Mouro, winner of the Secil Prize, by participating in one of the many activities on offer.
