3 - What kind of tickets are available online?

- Normal: the price varies between 2.00€ and 4.00€, depending on the monumento/archaeological site.

- Student card: 50% discount on the normal ticket price.

- Youth card: 50% discount on the normal ticket price.

- Senior: ≥ 65 years old: 50% discount on the normal ticket price.

- Children's ticket: ≤ 12 years of age: free

- Sundays and Holidays

- Cinema tickets (House of Arts - Henrique Alves Costa Hall).

- Tickets for various events, integrated in the Cultural Heritage, Public Institute programming.

- Tour tickets, which include more than one monumento/archaeological site, valid for one year from the date of issue. They allow you to visit two or more venues for less than the price of buying each ticket individually.

 

Temporary exhibitions and some other types of events in Monuments, Archaeological Sites and House of Arts are subject to set price lists, determined case by case and published only when the event takes place. Defined discounts for general space entries do not apply.

 

4 - Are there other types of discounted tickets?

Yes. There are other discounted tickets, available only at the physical box office. Requires documentary proof.

- Large family (2 adults and children) — 50 %;

- Family Ticket (from 4 elements with ascending and/or descending in a straight line or equivalent) — 50 %

 

5 - Are there discounts for special event tickets?

Temporary exhibitions and some other types of events (Monuments, Archaeological Sites and House of Arts) are subject to set price lists, determined case by case and published only when the event takes place. Defined discounts for general space entries do not apply.

 

6 - Are there free entrances to monuments/archaeological sites? Which ones are available online?

"Children up to 12 years old" and "Sundays and Public Holidays" free tickets are only available at the Online Ticket Office.

All the others, must be procured in person, at the physical ticket office of the respective monumento/archaeological site.

Free entry requires documentary proof. You should always carry documentation to prove the discount you are benefiting from.

• Sundays and public holidays: citizens resident in national territory.

• Children 12 years old and younger.

• Unemployed Residents in Portugal and in the European Union along with the respective proof.

 • All citizens resident on national territory, in the calendar year in which they reach the age of 18.

 - People with reduced mobility (60%) and a Multipurpose Disability Certificate and 1 accompanying person.

- Professional and higher education students in the historical-artistic and tourism, heritage and cultural management fields.

- Teachers and students of any level of education, including universities, senior citizens, when on a previously booked and approved field-trip.

- People who work in the Cultural Heritage field: Researchers, Conservators, Restorers and Professionals in Museology and/or Heritage.

- Members of ICOM, ICOMOS, APOM

- Friends of museums and monuments; cultural institutions.

- Accredited group: IPSS, Local Authorities, Other Institutions.

- Journalists

- Tourism professionals registered in the RNAAT

- Voluntary firemen

- Veterans and their widows.

 

7 - When can I use the "Sundays and Holidays" ticket?

Access to monuments and archaeological site managed by the Cultural Heritage, Public Institute is free on Sundays and public holidays for all citizens resident in Portugal, with proof of I.D.

Please note that there are monuments and archaeological sites that close during the lunch period.

When you buy your ticket, always check the opening hours of the monument or archaeological sites site in question.

 

8 - Are there discounts for purchasing large quantities of tickets? Are they available at the Online Ticket Office?

The Cultural Heritage, Public Institute offers discounts to tour operators for quantity purchases with a minimum of five working days' notice. Tickets are valid for one year after issue. Quantity discounts do not apply to cycle tickets.

Acquisitions of more than 250 tickets per type - 7.5 %;

Acquisitions of more than 500 tickets per type - 10 %;

Acquisitions of more than 1000 tickets per type - 15 %;

9 - Does Cultural Heritage, Public Institute make cycle tickets available at the Online Ticket Office?

The monuments/ archaeological sites included in the tour can be visited on any date within the validity period of the ticket (1 year). The tickets are valid for one entry in each of the monuments/ archaeological site included in the cycle ticket, not for resale, non-transferable and non-refundable. Tickets are valid for one year from the date of purchase. By purchasing a cycle ticket you can visit two or more venues for a lower price than buying each ticket individually.

10 - How can I buy tickets online?

- Select monumento/archaeological site

- Select the date and time for your visit

- Please indicate the number of tickets you wish to purchase (limited to 10 tickets).

- Select the type(s) of ticket(s)/event(s)

- Once you have selected your ticket, you can edit it before making payment.

- You can also add tickets for other monument(s)/ archaeological site(s), on different dates, to the same purchase.

- Payment: fill in the information, select the payment method and complete your purchase.

- Should you close the payment page by mistake, you will immediately receive an e-mail with a link to the payment page.

- After payment confirmation, you will receive the invoice and ticket(s) to the e-mail address you supplied. Please ensure that the email is valid.

 

11 - Do I have to print the tickets purchased online:

You do not need to print the ticket. Simply show it on your phone.

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we are asking that you avoid printing tickets where possible. 

 

12 - What kind of payments methods can I use?

Visa and Mastercard. For reasons beyond the control of the Cultural Heritage, Institute, one of these payment methods may, at some point, be unavailable.

 

13 - Is it possible to return tickets purchased online?

It is not possible to return tickets.

 

14 - Can I change the date of the tickets?

After payment, it is not possible to change the date of the tickets.

 

15 - Can I buy tickets for guided tours at the Online Ticket Office?

No. Guided tours require prior booking.

Groups of more than 50 people must also book in advance, even without a guided tour, at least 48 hours in advance, on a working day.

 

16 - Which are the closing days for monuments/ archaeological sites? What are the opening hours?

All Monuments and Archaeological Sites are closed on 1st January, Easter Sunday, Labour Day, 25th December and on the respective municipal holidays.
